The hair loss type really decides whether any treatment is possible and the first person to contact should be your medical practitioner.
If it is brought on by medical treatment then the loss may well improve after the treatment has finished. Hormonal imbalance can be cured if the imbalance is correctable. Stress types can be helped by removing the stress.
1) Drug treatment . There are a number of hair loss drugs on the market with varying success. Most try to work by stopping the loss getting worse.
2) Hair Restoring treatment. These can vary from conditioners to shampoos and work differently on every person and may, unfortunately, have no effect at all.
3) Hair Transplants. In many cases the hair loss is so great and will not grow back so a transplant of hair is carried out to redistribute the hair that is left at the back of the head over the rest of the head. It needs doing by a reputable and experienced hair tansplant practice.
4) Wigs. There are a huge range of options that are available in wigs and hair pieces and these run from a wig that may be used on a daily basis to one which may be semi-permanent.
The main thing is to find something that suits you. For many people that is accepting the problem as it is and living with it but there are other choices and some of these can help to solve a serious problem in how people consider themselves and the confidence and happiness with which they approach life.
